Cape Metal Pressings production process begins at the enquiry stage and ends with the supply of the correct production parts to our customer’s facility. Our entire process flows from the Enquiry – Feasibility Study – Quotation – Acceptance of quote – Tool Design – Tool Manufacture –Tool Trials – ISIR – PPAP – FMEA and Control Plan – and finally Production
Most of the production at Cape Metal Pressings is achieved on presses fitted with de-coilers and feeders that are set up to run automatically. We continuously check and monitor the parts for quality as each press setter is responsible for the quality of what he produces each day. We use a two bin system to eliminate as much scrap as possible from the process. Each box of pressed parts is identified and signed off to go to the next process. All our employees are aware of their internal supplier and customer as well as their external ones.
Many of the parts require further processing like rotary finishing, tapping, projection welding and plating before the finished goods are booked into our store.
Production of metal pressings is our core business and we pride ourselves in being a top supplier to our customers and we have glowing reports from the customer surveys to back this up. We have also won awards through Cape Chamber of Commerce and Productivity SA.
