Who We Are

Cape Metal pressings management team are a dynamic team with a combined total of 130 years of experience in the tool making and metal pressings industries. We are customer focused, as our customer reports and supplier awards can testify. Going beyond our customers’ expectations is what we aim for with each of our customers.

We enjoy the challenge of a new project and take pleasure in seeing it through from inquiry to delivery. Together with our workforce we aim to make Cape Metal Pressing a “World Class” metal pressings supplier.

Gerald Stark

Managing Member

Gerald is a qualified Tool and Die Maker with many years’ experience in Press Tool Design.

He has 33 years’ experience in this industry, and has been the founding owner and manager of Cape Metal Pressings for the past 23 years.

Glenn Yon

Quality Manager

Glenn is the factory manager and has a diploma in Production Management. He is also responsible for our  Quality Management System which is ISO 9001:2105. Glenn is driven by Customer focus and continuous improvement in the company.

He is also trained in Total Quality Production, 5S systems, Lean Manufacturing and many other quality processes. He has 30 years’ experience in the automotive environment.

Ma-awia Davids

Production Team Leader

Ma-awia is responsible for the smooth running of the production process. He has 30 years’ experience in this environment.

He ensures that the customer’s orders are correct to the drawing and are ready for delivery on time – every time.

Craig Tomlinson

Toolroom Team Leader

Craig is a qualified tool and die-maker with 28 years of experience in the industry

He is responsible for the manufacture, repair and maintenance of our press tools and the calibration of all measuring instruments.

Mezaan Arendse

Accounts and Human Resources

Mezaan has a diploma in business management and has 20 years’ experience in the accounts field.

She is responsible for debtors and creditors, salaries and banking. She also looks after our Skills Development and BEE Verification.

Alistair Michaels

Purchasing and planning

Alistair has 22 years’ service within the Supply Chain at Gabriel Shock Absorbers within stores, inventory control and purchasing.

He obtained a Diploma in Purchasing Management, Project Management training at Damelin College and Customs Clearing/Import & Exports procedure at School of Shipping.

Our people are our greatest asset and we recognise the fact that a happy workforce is a productive workforce. At Cape Metal Pressings our aim is to have a happy and well trained workforce. We have regular internal training sessions and also use external companies to train our staff.

We have regular monthly awards like employee of the month, best suggestions, best attendance. Every three months we celebrate the winning team on the 5S audit by having a burger day or barbecue day. We have pool competitions and year end functions like a visit to Robben Island and lunch at the Cape Town Waterfront.  We are a company who are proud of our achievements.
